Pazos de Lusco was founded in 1996 in the Condado do Tea subzone of DO Rías Baixas. In 2000, the owners of Bierzo winery Dominio de Tares purchased a minority stake in the project, and took over full ownership in 2009. They rebranded and relaunched the estate’s flagship Lusco Albariño label and built a new winery attached to the newly-restored ‘Casa Bugallal’, a historic pazo, or manor house. In 2016, current owner González Byass added Pazos de Lusco to its portfolio of wineries in Rioja, Rueda, Jerez, Cava, and Penedès.
