Terra de Asorei’s foundational values are summed up on their logo: a symbolic star made of six letter a’s: Albariño, Adegas (Wineries), Asorei, Art, Authenticity, and Amor (Love). In 2008, businessman and former TV journalist Xosé Ramón “Roque” Durán brought together an alliance of six families and 60 hectares of vineyards in the Salnés Valley to form Terra de Asorei. The name is a tribute to Francisco Asorei, the renowned Galician sculptor born nearby in Cambados, considered one of the most important Galician artists of the 20th century. In 2015, they moved into their permanent home, a new winery in Meis. One of the guiding philosophies was internationalization, and today 60–70% of production is exported.
The Wines
Terra de Asorei — 100% Albariño, aged six months on the lees.
Nai e Señora — A tribute to Galician women (nai = mother, señora = lady). 100% Albariño. Grapes spend 30 days cold soaking in stainless steel tanks before fermentation, followed by a brief stint on lees.
