Alberto Nanclares and Silvia Prieto produce terroir-driven, low-intervention wines in Rías Baixas. Their journey began when Alberto, a former economist, moved to the Rías Baixas in the early ‘90s, initially with no intention of making wine. However, the vineyard surrounding his home in Castrelo inspired him to start farming, and in 1997 he converted his garage into a small winery. Over time, he adopted organic viticulture and low-intervention winemaking, eliminating the use of chemical herbicides and pesticides and emphasizing the unique expression of each vineyard.

In 2015, Silvia Prieto, a winemaker from Pontevedra, joined the project. With a background in wine analysis and consulting, she shared Alberto’s philosophy of minimal intervention winemaking. Their partnership has led to an expansion in both the project’s vineyard holdings and production, with a focus on expressing each vineyard’s unique terroir.

Nanclares y Prieto farm five hectares of albariño across Cambados, Castrelo, and Padrenda, working exclusively with organic farming methods and traditional pergola training.
